Understanding Simple Pay Transaction Statuses

Simple Pay is our product for fast, direct global transactions. As a Simple Pay moves through the process, the transaction status clearly communicates where it is in the flow and who needs to take the next action.

A Simple Pay typically moves from Awaiting Acceptance (or To Accept) to In Progress, and finally to Paid. If your organization uses an Approval Flow, it will first pass through To Approve and To Release statuses.

Step-by-Step Status Definitions

Status What It Means Next Action
To Accept A Simple Pay request has been submitted by the other party and is pending your acceptance of the terms. You must review and accept the terms to proceed.
Awaiting Acceptance The Simple Pay request you sent to the other party is awaiting their review and acceptance. No action is needed by you. The other party must accept the terms.
To Approve This payment needs to be approved by a team member with the Manager role or higher. A Manager must review and click Approve (an Admin can both Approve and Release).
To Release The payment has already been Approved but is now pending final release. This step requires a team member with the Admin role. An Admin must click Release to start the transfer of funds.
In Progress The payment has been released. The funds are currently being transferred from the Payor's funding source to the Payee's LiquidTrust Wallet. No action needed by either party. Funds are on the way.
Paid The payment is complete, and the funds have been successfully transferred and are now available in the Payee's LiquidTrust Wallet. The Payee can now initiate a Withdrawal to their bank account.
Canceled The payment was canceled by one of the parties or expired before acceptance/approval. No further action can be taken on this transaction.

Understanding these statuses ensures that you always know the exact stage of your Simple Pay and, if needed, which team member needs to act next. The distinction between To Approve (Manager) and To Release (Admin) is particularly important for businesses using the Approval Flow feature for internal control.
