How to Start Paying or Getting Paid

To begin sending a payment to a vendor (Payee) or requesting a payment from a client (Payor), you must first connect with them as a Business Contact on LiquidTrust. Once connected, you can transact quickly and securely.

The connection process is the same whether you are the one inviting or the one being invited.

Step-by-Step Instructions: Establishing a Connection

  1. Start the Invitation Flow
    • Go to Business Contacts in the left side menu.
    • Click on "Invite Payor or Payee"
  2. Enter the Email Address
    • You will be prompted to enter the email address of your client or vendor.
  3. Send the Invitation
    • Click the Send Invitation button.

Once the other business accepts the invitation and completes their verification, they will appear in your contacts list, and you can immediately begin transacting.

After the Connection is Established

Once connected, you can use Simple Pay or Protected Pay to manage your transactions:

To Request a Payment (As a Payee)

  1. Go to Simple Pay or Protected Pay in the left menu.
  2. Select "Request Payment."
  3. Select the connected Payor from your contacts list.
  4. Enter the payment details and submit your request.

To Send a Payment (As a Payor)

  1. Go to Simple Pay or Protected Pay in the left menu.
  2. Select "Send Payment."
  3. Select the connected Payee from your contacts list.
  4. Enter the payment details and send the funds.

Why This Matters

Connecting with a business ensures that both parties have completed the necessary verification steps, establishing a foundation of trust and compliance before any money moves. By requiring this connection, LiquidTrust provides a secure and closed ecosystem, protecting every Payor and Payee in the network.

Tips, Notes, or Warnings

  • Add a detailed description: Remember to include a detailed description or invoice with every payment request to establish a clear purpose of payment.
  • Duplicate Requests: For future requests to the same contact, you can save time by duplicating any existing payment request before editing the amount and due date.
  • International Users: If you are a LiquidTrust user outside the USA, your primary role in the platform is as a Payee, meaning you can receive and request payments.
